Stilton, Bauhaus floor lamp, chrome, opaline glass, former Czechoslovakia, 1930s.
A delightful and rare collector’s item, this functionalist Bauhaus chrome floor lamp was made by the company Stilton in former Czechoslovakia in the 1930s. The lamp features a cone-shaped chrome base, an original sphere-shaped opaline glass shade, as well as a height-adjustable chrome stem. Additionally, the lamp also features two height-adjustable round trays or shelves featuring black and white-colored opaline glass. The floor lamp features the original manufacturer’s label, “Stilton,” next to the light switch.
The floor lamp is in good original condition, with wear consistent with age and use. The original light switch isn’t in working condition and only serves an aesthetic purpose. The lamp has recently been rewired.
