Description
A rare cantilever lounge chair, model ’37/400′ (also known as the ‘Tank’ chair), designed in 1936 by Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). Manufactured by Artek in the 1940s. Made of bent birch plywood and retains its original red velvet upholstery. The ‘Tank’ chair is one of Alvar Aalto’s most notable works and is a delightful and rare collector’s item.
